Abstract submission rules and guidelines

Abstracts can be submitted via the online Abstract Submission Services only. Abstracts sent by fax or email will not be accepted.

 

1. All abstracts must be submitted in English. The title of the abstract must be supplied in English and German. The abstract text is limited to 2500 characters. The 2500 character limit includes punctuation and spacing. The body of the abstract should be organized as follows:

  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

 

2. Abstracts for marketing purpose only and company profile will be excluded. Accepted posters or presentation may not be presented by employees of industrial firms.

3. At the annual meeting the original data should be presented. By submitting, the authors assume responsibility for the accuracy of the data. The responsibility for resolving any copyrights of third parties concerning the content of the abstract lies with the authors. Thus, the authors ensure that lie on all figures, tables, etc. no third party rights, which conflict with a publication.

4. Each submitted abstract may be published in other congresses. Abstracts of international groups of authors must be presented from a scientists of a German institution involved at the paper.

5. You can choose whether your contribution should be presented as a free presentation or poster. The number of free lectures is limited. If your abstract can not be accepted as free lecture, so an assessment is carried out as a poster.

6. The presenting author ist the primary author of this abstract.

7. When inserting figures and tables the text should be reduced accordingly. Each figure represents 300 characters. Tables and figures must be laid out in abstract journal column width of 88 mm. Figures should be in high resolution (300 dpi) jpg, tif, eps or png format.

8. Disclosure Conflicts of Interest: Please note that submitted abstracts will be evaluated only when conflicts of interest are called. The conflicts of interest must be disclosed for the primary and the senior author at the beginning of the lecture or on the poster. You will be requested to provide details on the following aspects:

  • Employment or Leadership Position
  • Advisory Role or Expert Testimony
  • Stock Ownership
  • Patent, Copyright, Licensing
  • Honoraria
  • Financing of Scientific Research
  • Other Financial Relationships
  • Immaterial  Conflicts of Interest

9. No-Show Policy for poster and free lectures: If a scheduled presenter fails to appear in person or to send a replacement, and does not cancel the poster or slide presentation before the meeting, that presenter will be barred from having an abstract accepted in the next Annual Meeting of the German, Austrian and Swiss Associations for Hematology and Medical Oncology.

10. The authors who have submitted abstracts will be informed by the beginning of July 2016 by e-mail if their contribution has been accepted.

11. Submitting an abstract does not replace the registration as a participant in the Congress. The presenting author must register separately via the online registration for the congress.

12. Publication: All accepted abstracts will be published in the abstract supplement of „Oncology Research and Treatment", S. Karger Medical and Scientific Publishers. Please note that your abstract will be published in the submitted form and no corrections can be made. If necessary, the organizer reserves the right to modify faulty abstracts without consultation for publication.

13. After the submission the copyright of the abtract will be transferred to the DGHO, ÖGHO, SGH, SGMO. All rights remain with the associations mentioned before. The associations reserve the right to make publications, e.g. on the internet or other printed materials.

Taking photographs of presentations, posters or similar materials is not allowed.
